High School Equity Audit

The Education Trust – West is conducting an Education Equity Audit – in partnership with San Rafael City Schools – to examine the district’s college and career readiness practices. This survey is for parents / guardians of high school students in SRCS. As part of the assessment, we want to know what you think about:

  • Student access to courses that prepare them for college and career;
  • The expectations that adults at school have for students;
  • How challenging classes are;
  • What support students get to do well in their classes;
  • What support parents get to help their students in school; and,
  • What support parents and students get to help meet students’ goals beyond high school.

We will examine your opinions and those of school staff and students, along with data from student transcripts, to learn more about the school and district culture and practice.
Click here to take the survey:

The survey will be open until March 15. Thank you for your participation.

Additionally, SRCS is holding Community Conversations so that Ed Trust - West can hear community members’ views of how the district can improve equitable college and career readiness as well as how the community can support the district in this goal. All families and community partners are encouraged to attend.

San Rafael High School Community Conversation:
Tuesday, March 19, 6 pm, SRHS Library

Terra Linda High School Community Conversation:
Wednesday, March 27, 6 pm, TLHS Performance Hall

More information:
The Education Trust-West is a nonprofit educational equity organization focused on closing opportunity and achievement gaps through research, data, policy analysis and advocacy. Marin Promise Partnership, which SRCS is proud to participate in, is contributing funding for the audit to help advance equitable outcomes for college and career readiness in SRCS. Ed Trust-West will review data and gather input and will then co-facilitate a steering committee to build a Blueprint for Equity Action Plan, which will also be incorporated into the District's LCAP. The initial scope will focus on SRCS' high schools. Click here to learn more.
SRCS is excited about this new partnership with Ed Trust-West and is grateful to Marin Promise for their support!
